"It is as if one were wandering languidly amongst dancing Irises wafting airily on clouds of gold" ...... is how one observer describes the works of Rosa Leung Trombitas. By blending traditional Chinese painting methods with western styles, Rosa Trombitas has created an array of emotionally charged paintings that can rival nature's own brushstrokes. Bold colors and painstaking detail highlight her paintings, and through the application of many layers of color, she has achieved a sense of depth and tranquility within her work.
Rosa creates from imagination. Her art, inspired by her extensive travels and the beauty of her Arizona home, represents a composite of richness of life around her. Her subjects range from delicate floating Lotuses, to flowering cacti, Koi swimming in ponds ringed in sunlight and bold colorful Irises. It is her courageous use of color however, that captures the observer, and draws them into worlds brimming with reds, yellows, purples and golds.
Her work portrays different themes that represent both her Chinese culture, as well as her extensive travels. The result is a western influence to the more disciplined Chinese tradition.
She was born in China and studied art at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore, and furthered her studies under renowned Chinese masters in Hong Kong. She has lived and exhibited in Singapore, Hong Kong, and the United States. Today, her paintings hang in both private and corporate collections.
She lives in Arizona, where she paints full time in her studio.
